Hawke's Bay client

When I needed help for my mother while she was travelling through Wellington Airport, I wasn't sure where to turn. I called with a number of organisations, including Driving Miss Daisy, Wellington Hospital, and several retirement villages, but what I needed was outside the services they provided. One retirement village suggested I contact Steady Companion, and I'm so grateful they did.

Mum was visiting me in Queenstown from Hawke's Bay and needed to transfer through Wellington Airport. On her journey home there was about an hour between flights, and I was worried.
Mum can become a little confused at times and uses a wheelchair in airports.

It couldn't have gone better. Marilyn met Mum in the arrivals area and took her upstairs for tea and a scone.
They spent time chatting, reading magazines, and enjoying a relaxed break before browsing the magazine shop so Mum could buy something to read on the final leg of her journey.

Knowing Mum was in such kind and capable hands was an enormous relief. I could finally relax, and Mum was all smiles. The whole experience was perfect, and I am so, so grateful to Marilyn and Steady Companion.
